Hospice of Cincinnati at The Christ Hospital
The Hospice of Cincinnati Inpatient Unit at The Christ Hospital is truly a one-of-a-kind facility. It’s one of only a few hospice inpatient units in the region to be located inside a hospital. With roughly 6,000 square feet and 10 private rooms, this facility will serve the needs of patients at The Christ Hospital and other hospice patients from the community – providing accommodations and comfort to the terminally ill.
The unit is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is staffed and managed by Hospice of Cincinnati employees. Family members and loved ones can conveniently visit the unit and take time at the in-unit chapel during visits.

Care Provided
Short-term care is provided at an Inpatient Care Center for the treatment of uncontrolled symptoms.
Respite care is a level of care available through the Medicare and Medicaid Hospice benefit. At Hospice of Cincinnati, respite care is provided in one of our five Inpatient Care Centers. Caregivers can take a much-needed break while you receive expert care, for up to five days. After the respite, you can return to the place you call home.
Directions
Hospice of Cincinnati’s Christ Hospital In-Patient Care Center is located in The Christ Hospital at 2139 Auburn Avenue, Cincinnati Ohio. Please Park in one of the Visitor Garages and enter the main entrance during regular hours between 5:00 am until 9:00 pm. Follow the signs to 5 West Hospice Inpatient Unit. After hours, please enter through the Emergency Room and follow the signs to the 5 West Hospice Inpatient Unit.
From the Emergency Department
- Take the Heart Tower elevators to Level 1
- Exit the elevators and turn left
- Follow the concourse and signs toward the Main Elevators
- Take the Main Elevators to Level 5
- Exit the elevator and follows signs to 5 West
