Levels Of Care
Hospice of Cincinnati is a Medicare-certified hospice that follows Medicare requirements when determining the level of care that best meets our patient’s medical needs. The hospice levels of care are as follows:
| Routine Home Care | Provided in the patient’s place of residence when his or her medical condition and care needs do not require one of the other levels of care. Routine Home Care does not include coverage for a facility’s room and board charges. |
| Respite Care | Provided in a Hospice of Cincinnati Inpatient Care Center for up to 5 days if family members and caregivers need rest and respite. |
| General Inpatient Care | Provided on a short-term basis in an inpatient Care Center or other facility if the medical management of symptoms cannot be feasibly provided in another setting. |
| Continuous Home Care | Provided on a short-term basis if the patient requires mostly nursing care in order to manage acute medical symptoms. |
** When patients no longer qualify for General Inpatient Care, there may be times when they remain in the hospice facility for Routine Home Care. In those cases, payment arrangements must be made with the Hospice of Cincinnati business office for room and board charges not covered by insurance.
